Product Description

Applications
Carbon fiber packing is wear-resistant, capable of withstanding high pressure, and resistant to erosion by solid particles. It is primarily used for sealing pumps, valves, and mixing equipment, making it well-suited for operating conditions that involve solid particles or abrasive media:
1. Chemical Industry:
Sealing for slurry pumps, feed pumps, and slurry valves handling particle-laden wastewater, mineral slurries, or acidic/alkaline slurries.
2. Metallurgy and Mining:
Shaft sealing for mining pumps and equipment used to transport slag, pulverized coal, or tailings.
3. Power Industry:
Sealing for ash-slurry pumps, slag-discharge pumps, and pumps/valves within ash-handling systems.
4. Wastewater Treatment:
Sealing for sludge pumps and pumps handling fluids with impurities, such as sewage or sludge.
5. Pulp and Paper Industry:
Shaft sealing for pulp pumps handling media containing paper pulp fibers.
6. Other Applications:
Sealing for slurry pumps in desulfurization systems, as well as for the agitator shafts of mixing tanks and reactors.

Advantages
1. Wear and erosion resistance:
Carbon fiber possesses high inherent strength, making it resistant to wear when exposed to media containing solid particles, sediment, or mineral slurries; its service life significantly exceeds that of standard graphite packing.
2. High-temperature resistance:
It can typically withstand long-term operating temperatures of up to approximately 280°C, with certain impregnated formulations capable of enduring even higher temperatures for short periods.
3. Excellent pressure resistance:
Suitable for high-pressure operating conditions; it is not easily dislodged or dispersed by the medium.
4. Self-lubricating:
Versions impregnated with graphite or PTFE exhibit a low coefficient of friction, resulting in minimal wear on the shaft.
5. Corrosion resistance:
Resistant to weak acids, weak bases, sewage, oils, and various slurries.
6. Structurally stable:
Features a dense, tight weave that prevents the strands from unraveling.
