Applications

1. Converter Steelmaking
1) Converter tilting: Molten steel slag is discharged and collected in slag pots;
2) Transport to hot-pouring slag yard: Slag is dumped and cooled via water spraying;
3) Magnetic separation: Residual steel is recovered from the slag; processed steel slag is used for roadbeds and construction material feedstock.

2. Ironmaking Blast Furnace
Receives molten blast furnace slag (1300-1450°C) and transports it via overhead crane and rail to the slag yard:
1) Water granulation: Slag is granulated for use as cement raw material;
2) Dry slag stockpiling: Slag is stored for subsequent processing into construction materials.

3. Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) & Refining Furnace
1) Slag discharge from EAF steelmaking;
2) Desulfurization slag from LF (Ladle Furnace) refining;
3) Residual slag from continuous casting ladles (molten slag remaining at the bottom of the ladle); all are collected in slag pots and transported.

performance

1. The main body is primarily made of ZG230-450 cast steel (or ZG270-500/low-alloy cast steel for severe operating conditions), while the trunnions are made of forged alloy steel (20CrMo/35CrMo) to ensure strength superior to that of the main body.

2. Thermal shock resistance:
Withstands repeated contact with molten slag at 1200-1500°C and rapid cooling after slag dumping; resists thermal fatigue and retards crack formation.

3. Resistant to molten slag erosion and chemical corrosion; strict control of harmful impurities (S, P) to reduce the tendency for hot cracking.

4. The casting undergoes full annealing to eliminate internal casting stresses; critical areas are inspected using Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to detect any cracks or defects.

1. High-temperature liquid slag discharges from the furnace mouth into a slag pot;

2. An overhead crane lifts the slag pot, and a rail transfer car transports it;

3. It is transported to the slag processing workshop or slag yard;

4. The overhead crane tilts the slag pot to dump out the red-hot molten slag (using methods such as hot pouring, water spraying for cooling, or water quenching);

5.After cooling, the empty slag pot is returned to the furnace area for reuse.
